Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has warned individuals providing information or support to bandits that they will be identified and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
The governor issued the warning on Friday during an emergency security meeting held at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi following recent bandit attacks in parts of the state.
The meeting brought together security chiefs and key stakeholders to assess the security situation and discuss measures to address emerging threats and prevent further attacks.
Speaking at the meeting, Idris expressed concern over the renewed security challenges and assured residents that his administration would continue to take decisive steps to protect lives and property across the state.
He said the government would not tolerate any individual aiding criminal elements through the supply of information or other forms of support, stressing that anyone found culpable would face the full weight of the law.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to restoring and sustaining peace, noting that the safety and security of residents remain a top priority.
Idris also commended security agencies for their efforts in combating criminal activities and maintaining stability in many communities across the state.
He, however, urged residents to support ongoing security operations by providing timely and reliable information that could assist security agencies in preventing attacks and apprehending criminals.
According to him, effective collaboration between the public and security agencies remains crucial in the fight against banditry and other forms of insecurity.
