The All Progressives Grand Alliance has declared lawyer Chukwudi Oli winner of its House of Representatives primary for the Njikoka/Dunukofia and Anaocha Federal Constituency of Anambra State ahead of the January 16, 2027 general elections.
The party’s returning officer for the constituency primary, Ejimofor Opara, announced the result on Tuesday night at the Njikoka Local Government Area headquarters in Abagana.
According to the results announced, Oli secured 10,566 votes to emerge victorious over other aspirants in the contest.
Other contestants included Udoji Chike, who polled 14 votes; Tochukwu John with 2,257 votes; Oha Chisom, who secured 3,418 votes; and Okoye Charles, who recorded 24 votes.
A total of 16,742 votes were cast during the exercise.
Opara stated that Oli fulfilled all requirements of the party and electoral guidelines, adding that he scored the highest number of valid votes in the primary.
Reacting to the outcome, Oli expressed appreciation to the party’s National Working Committee, the leader of the party and Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, as well as supporters of APGA across the constituency for their backing.
According to him, his ambition is centred on transforming the political landscape of the constituency and providing effective representation for the people.
“I am overwhelmed by the confidence and support the people have shown me, and I can only assure them that I will not disappoint them,” he said.
The legal practitioner also promised to deliver people-oriented representation if elected during the 2027 general elections.
“As someone who understands grassroots politics, I will ensure my representation positively impacts the lives of the people and brings development to the constituency,” he added.
Oli further appreciated members of the media for their support and role throughout his consultations and campaign activities ahead of the primary election.
